OFFICIAL: 19/09/10 - Hinckley Vixens vs Jimmies

Kicked off at 2 o'clock with us kicking to them, we started off really well with some big tackles goin in. We held them off for a while but with a small gap one of their backs slipped through and scored a try. We got up shook it off and carried on. We were going through the stages of play well with our forwards taking the ball on, the opposition managed to score a few more trys. With our Fly half Laura getting injured and coming off, the first sub on was Sam goin into scrum half position, with Fern taking over the fly half role. Half time aproached with the jimmies leading a few bruises here and there but only one bad injury.

Second half started with jimmies kicking to us, some more good tackles were made. The jimmies scrums were strong and our forwards found them hard to keep back although they did not give up. With Fern comming off injured this meant our last sub Claire was needed to come on. we played on letting in some more trys although our heads did not drop. Another injury occured with nelly which meant she had to come off, leaving us one player short. The final score was 51 - 0 to them.

Everyone played well, special mention to Nelly, Chloe and Grace for their awesome tackling. For a bit of consturctive criticism from the manager (Helen) we need to use the backs more and get the ball out to them a lot quicker as it was a lot of forwards play.

We all did very well against a very big and strong physical team and i think we can learn from this to look forward to our next game. Very good turn out too, we need this commitment throughout the season.
